Loftus Peak is a global fund manager with a focus on investing in listed disruptive businesses. Our extensive experience of successfully investing in disruptive businesses brings significant discipline to the investment process. The Fund holds large capitalisation names such as Apple, Google and Alibaba, constructed on the basis that strict criteria to give exposure to some of the best and fastest growing companies in the world at carefully determined valuations. This kind of geographical and sectoral diversification lowers the concentration risk inherent in the typical Australian portfolio with its heavy skew toward banks, resources and the Australian dollar. The Fund is a registered, managed investment scheme.
We believe self-managed super funds and investors generally want a professionally managed portfolio that gives them access to these important secular trends, either in a trust or through a managed account, which provides direct ownership of the shares in these profitable companies.
Loftus Peak seeks to harvest a return from the stock market not by replicating an index, but by applying a different lens to the world of business. The Company’s investment team focuses on developing an understanding of the change the world will go through in the next five to ten years and discounting this future value back to get a valuation in today’s terms.
We have applied our approach to the way in which we look at business in the selection of companies for inclusion in the portfolio. We have done this by filtering out companies which do not fit into the disruption thematics. The companies that are left are subject to rigorous research with respect to: industry structure, governance, sustainability, growth rates, competitors, balance sheet, cashflow, income statement metrics and stress testing through the impact of varying discount rates over a 10 year plus forecast period. We do not use a single period valuation metrics.
